“Getting a few marks more or less in 10th Standard is not going to make so much of a difference. How much you learn will make a world of a difference”
In this episode of Sadhguru’s podcast, he talks to a group of students about exam fear and why exams should not be something to be afraid of. Sadhguru discusses how fear is portrayed in society as a virtue, but in reality, it turns us into the ugliest possible creatures, and the absence of fear makes our lives extremely pleasant.
At rooh, we encourage listeners to tune into this episode because:
- We grapple with the meaning of fear and we love the simple explanation of how fear is about something that is yet to be and doesn’t exist right now. We worry about what will happen, how we will perform in the future, and then imagine all the horrible things that could happen. Sadhguru guides us to understand the importance of preparing ourselves enough mentally to not worry about the results of whatever it is we’re doing.
- Sadhguru discusses how the goal should be to learn something and not to prove something. In exams and in life, if we strive to learn something, there is no failure, and striving itself is learning.
- We feel this episode speaks to current students, and the inner students within all of us. Regarding the matter of test anxiety, Sadhguru emphasizes that marks will not determine the quality of life, but the integrity we show will determine the quality of our lives.
