The Quest for Longevity

October 1 - November 5

The first chapter of the oldest Ayurveda text, the Charaka Samhita, is titled “The Quest for Longevity.” Rather than addressing disease, treatment, or pathology, the journey begins with a much deeper question: how do we live long, healthy, meaningful lives?

In this six-week online series from the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, some of the field’s most respected teachers, including Claudia Welch, Kate O’Donnell, and John Douillard, come together to explore Ayurveda’s timeless teachings on healthy aging and longevity. In the Ayurvedic tradition, longevity isn’t simply about adding years to life; it’s about cultivating vitality, resilience, nourishment, purpose, and connection at every stage of life.

Across six live sessions, you’ll explore the relationship between breath and vitality, learn to support pelvic floor function, bone strength, and cognitive health, examine the classical science of rasayana through digestion and immunity, and discover the foods, habits, relationships, and practices that nourish a long and meaningful life. Designed for Ayurvedic practitioners, yoga teachers, health professionals, and anyone curious about applying ancient wisdom to modern aging, this series offers both personal insight and professional tools.

why rooh recommends attending

Kripalu is a place we recommend often, and its School of Ayurveda consistently brings together some of the most thoughtful teachers in the field. What we love about this series is the way it reframes longevity as a natural byproduct of living with vitality, purpose, and connection.

That distinction resonates deeply with us. So much of modern wellness culture treats aging as a problem to solve, but this series draws from thousands of years of wisdom to offer a gentler, more holistic way of thinking about health across a lifetime. For anyone curious about Ayurveda or looking for a more sustainable relationship with aging, we think this is a meaningful place to start.
