Event Series: The Art of Fighting

The Art of Fighting

September 10 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join acclaimed author Priya Parker at Politics and Prose in Boston, MA, for a conversation on her new book, The Art of Fighting: The Transformative Power of Conflict. We say we want strong friendships and lasting communities, yet many of us have never learned the one thing that makes those bonds durable: knowing how to fight well. Priya rejects the idea that conflict is a sign something’s gone wrong, arguing instead that disagreement is often what allows relationships to grow.

Drawing on her experience as a master facilitator who has worked on conflict resolution from American college campuses to peace processes abroad, Priya, also the acclaimed author of The Art of Gathering and host of Together Apart, will be in conversation with Clint Smith, staff writer at The Atlantic. This is a free, first-come, first-served event.

why rooh recommends attending

We have loved Priya Parker’s work ever since The Art of Gathering changed the way we think about bringing people together; not just where we gather, but why we gather and how we can make those moments more meaningful. Her new book, The Art of Fighting, explores something most of us tend to avoid: conflict. Priya reminds us that disagreement does not always mean something is broken. When approached with intention, it can actually help us understand one another better, strengthen our relationships, and build healthier communities.
